When could Starship launch to Mars?
By the end of 2026, according to Elon Musk.
Who will be on board the first mission?
The humanoid robot Tesla Optimus.
And what about humans?
Possibly between 2029 and 2031, if everything goes well.
What is Starship exactly?
The biggest and most powerful rocket ever built (123 meters tall). It’s key to Musk’s and NASA’s Moon and Mars ambitions.
Is the rocket ready yet?
Not quite. The last test on March 7 ended in an explosion mid-flight. But the booster stage landed successfully using a unique capture system developed by SpaceX.
What’s NASA’s role?
NASA is expecting a modified Starship for its Artemis program, which aims to send astronauts back to the Moon this decade.
