Indian Billionaire Faces Fraud Charges in the US
Gautam Adani, one of the world's richest men and a key ally of Indian PM Narendra Modi, faces US fraud charges.
Accused of orchestrating a $250m bribery scheme, the charges could jeopardize his $169bn empire spanning ports, energy, and infrastructure.
US prosecutors allege Adani and his executives paid bribes to Indian officials to secure contracts worth $2bn in profits over 20 years.
Adani Group has denied the claims, calling them "baseless."
