Was Biden for Assad?

Bachar Al-Assad

President Joe Biden has consistently opposed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime.

Following Assad's recent ousting by rebel forces, Biden described the event as a "fundamental act of justice" and an "opportunity" for Syrians to "build a better future," while acknowledging the associated risks and uncertainties.

Throughout his presidency, Biden maintained a firm stance against Assad, emphasizing the necessity for Assad to "be held accountable" for the "hundreds of thousands of deaths" during the Syrian conflict.

The U.S. administration's policies aimed to weaken Assad's support from allies like Russia and Iran, contributing to the regime's eventual collapse.
